PANBIO™ Dengue Duo Cassette
Dengue virus is a flavivirus found largely in areas of the tropics and sub-tropics. Over half the world’s population lives in regions at risk of potential dengue transmission, making dengue the most important arbovirus disease in humans, in terms of morbidity and mortality. There are four distinct but antigenically related serotypes of dengue viruses, and transmission is via female mosquito, principally Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, and Aedes polynesienses. The Panbio™ Dengue Duo Cassette is for the qualitative presumptive detection of IgM and elevated high titre IgG antibodies to dengue virus in human serum, plasma and whole blood.
CONVENIENT
In the Panbio™ Dengue Duo Cassette, IgM and elevated IgG are determined simultaneously using a single addition of serum, plasma or whole blood, enabling differentiation between primary and secondary infection through a single application of specimen. In primary infections, serum IgM antibodies can be detected from dengue patients as early as 3 to 5 days after the onset of fever.
QUICK
In primary infections, serum IgM antibodies can be detected from dengue patients as early as 3 to 5 days after the onset of fever.
RELIABLE
Dengue Duo Cassette can detect the high levels of IgG characteristic of secondary infections and IgM levels associated with primary dengue with high sensitivity and specificity.
Specifications
In a retrospective study conducted using serum samples collected from Honduras, Thailand and Mexico, the Panbio™ Dengue Duo Cassette demonstrated the following:
Primary Sensitivity: 85.1%, Secondary Sensitivity: 98.8% Specificity: 91.6%.
